Although a professional tiler may have years of experience when it comes to fitting Decorative wall tiles, the average DIYer can obtain a professional looking finish if they have the right tools, some clear instructions and a bit of patience. Even if you have absolutely no experience you should be able to complete a small to medium sized bathroom in a weekend and it can add a really fantastic finish to the room plus ceramic tiles also provide a waterproof barrier. There are a few essential tools required in order to successfully fix Decorative wall tiles, these can include a tile cutter or tile saw (electric cutters are slightly more expensive but are excellent value), an adhesive spreader, a grout spreader, tile spacers and a spirit level.
Before fixing the tiles you must ensure that your walls are clean, dry and as flat as possible. The shape and size of your bathroom will ultimately determine how much tile cutting is involved but if you have a good tile cutter and a few spare Decorative wall tiles then even tricky cutting is pretty straight-forward. Start with the lowest row of Decorative wall tiles first and work up the wall from bottom to top. If your tiling includes openings such as a window, use this as the starting point to ensure that the Decorative wall tiles are equal around it. When tiling round a window always ensure that the cut Decorative wall tiles are placed at the back of the reveal.
If the area is to come into contact with water (highly likely in a bathroom) ensure that you use a waterproof adhesive. Most come ready-mixed nowadays although mixing it with water is an easy procedure. Work on areas around one metre square for ease and to ensure that the adhesive doesn’t dry before you get to fixing the Decorative wall tiles to it. Fix your first tile to the adhesive and then use spacers to separate the rest of the Decorative wall tiles you stick. Use a damp sponge to then wipe away excess adhesive from the surface of the Decorative wall tiles.
When cutting ceramic tiles use a felt-tip pen to mark then which can then be wiped off so that no marks are left on the surface. If using a manual tile cutter, score the tile and then snap it, if using an electric cutter simply line up you marked line with the blade. Once cut, smooth any sharp edges with a tile sander.
It is vital that you use a waterproof grout if the ceramic tiles are to be used as a covering around a bath or in a shower. Allow the tile to set for 24 hours on the wall before applying grout, this will ensure that the adhesive has fully set. Apply the grout and make sure that all joints are adequately filled. Wipe away excess and use a grout finisher to smooth the joints. Do not rely on grout to provide a completely waterproof seal on its own, when tiling around a bath or in shower ensure that a waterproof sealant is used to seal the gap between the bottom tiles and the bath or shower unit.

The wall of the bathroom has paint at this moment. However, due to moisuture air, the paint has been peeling off (I did not use the correct paint for a bathroom) in many spots and it looks terrible. I am thinking of installing tiles to the wall. However, the surface is not smooth so I wonder if I need to use sand papers and remove the peeled paint in order to make the surface smooth first before intalling tiles. Or is it ok to istall the tiles over the wall without doing anything?

It fell off but is still in one piece. I just want to know the best way to re-affix it to the area it fell from. I’m sure something like superglue is all I need, but I thought I’d ask since superglue might not work in the shower.

1.In this problem, we will analyze the profit found for sales of decorative tiles. A demand equation (sometimes called a demand curve) shows how much money people would pay for a product depending on how much of that product is available on the open market. Often, the demand equation is found empirically (through experiment, or market research).
a.Suppose that a market research company finds that at a price of p = , they would sell x = 37 tiles each month. If they lower the price to p = , then more people would purchase the tile, and they can expect to sell x = 52 tiles in a month’s time. Find the equation of the line for the demand equation. Write your answer in the form p = mx + b. (Hint: Write an equation using two points in the form (x,p)).
P=mx+b (37,40)
A company’s revenue is the amount of money that comes in from sales, before business costs are subtracted. For a single product, you can find the revenue by multiplying the quantity of the product sold, x, by the demand equation, p.
b.Substitute the result you found from part a into the equation R = xp to find the revenue equation. Provide your answer in simplified form.
The costs of doing business for a company can be found by adding fixed costs, such as rent, insurance, and wages, and variable costs, which are the costs to purchase the product you are selling. The portion of the company’s fixed costs allotted to this product is 5, and the supplier’s cost for a set of tile is each. Let x represent the number of tile sets.
c.If b represents a fixed cost, what value would represent b?
d.Find the cost equation for the tile. Write your answer in the form C = mx + b.
The profit made from the sale of tiles is found by subtracting the costs from the revenue.
e.Find the Profit Equation by substituting your equations for R and C in the equation . Simplify the equation.
f.What is the profit made from selling 15 tile sets per month?
g.What is the profit made from selling 28 tile sets each month?
h.What is the profit made from selling no tile sets each month? Interpret your answer.
i.Use trial and error to find the quantity of tile sets per month that yields the highest profit.
j.How much profit would you earn from the number you found in part i?
k.What price would you sell the tile sets at to realize this profit (hint, use the demand equation from part a)?

If so, how did it turn out and how did you keep the grout from getting painted? Mine is currently tan and brown and I want to paint over it.

I just bought beautiful 12×12 white thassos for the floor in my other bathroom but I will have some excess. So I was wondering if it would be possible to use it to tile the area above my shower enclosure, which is about 18 sq ft. I know you need to use cement for marble and I’m not sure how feasible this is for a wall. Thanks.
